Welcome to the Stilesmeadow website!

Stilesmeadow Dog Sanctuary is situated in Bosley, near Macclesfield and Congleton, Cheshire. Stiles Meadow is a charity dedicated to rehoming rescue dogs who have been abandoned for a variety of reasons, more often than not through no fault of their own. We find homes for 150-170 dogs each year and we are constantly seeking loving and caring homes for all types of dogs, young and old

The sanctuary is run by Sam and June Clowes and good friend, Jackie Blake. Sam, founder member of Stilesmeadow has cared for many dogs over a period of 20 years, and his devotion is still as strong. Sam works 7 days a week and 12 months of the year, without him there would not be a sanctuary. Thank you Sam from all those dogs. There is also a team of dedicated Stilesmeadow volunteers. They go up to Stiles several times a week to walk the dogs, getting them used to being on a lead and socialising them, preparing them for their new homes hopefully. The volunteers also clean out the kennels, play with the dogs and groom them, all year round, regardless of the weather.

June is our main fund raiser. June's hard work fund raising enables all the dogs to have veterinary treatment when needed, they are microchipped, neutered / spayed and vaccinated before leaving us. June's work is vital for the health and care of the dogs. Thanks for your hard work June.

Some thirteen years ago SAR asked us if we could kennel four dogs as their regular kennels were closing down. At that time we did not have kennels of any kind, so we hurriedly made a spare building suitable. Over the years we have kept adding to until the present total of 34 purpose built licensed kennels was achieved.

Home checks or references are essential before dogs can be rehomed. Although the dogs are exercised three times a day it is no substitute for a loving home.

Stilesmeadow is open to the public on Tuesday and Thursdays 2-5pm and Saturdays 11am-5pm (closed 1-2pm for lunch). All visits outside of these hours are only by prior arrangement with Sam.
